Description
Check your Vitamin D level – at home, in 10 minutes, with a single drop of blood. The parahealth diagnostics Vitamin D rapid test semi-quantitatively measures your 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) level from a fingerstick blood sample. No lab, no doctor’s appointment – simply test at home and instantly find out whether you have a Vitamin D deficiency.
Why choose this Vitamin D test?
- Results in 10 minutes – faster than any laboratory test
- 3 levels, not just yes/no – tells you whether your Vitamin D level is deficient, insufficient or sufficient
- Simple fingerstick – one drop of blood is all it takes, lancet and alcohol pad included in the kit
- Color card for easy reading – compare the test line intensity with the included reference card for a clear result
- Approved for self-testing – CE 0123 certified IVD medical device
- Complete kit – test cassette, lancet, alcohol pad, capillary dropper, buffer and color card included
Why should you know your Vitamin D level?
Vitamin D deficiency is recognized as a global health concern. An estimated 40 % of Europeans have insufficient Vitamin D levels – particularly during autumn and winter when sunlight exposure is limited. A deficiency has been linked to a wide range of health issues:
- Osteoporosis and bone softening (osteomalacia)
- Weakened immune system and increased susceptibility to infections
- Fatigue, mood changes and depression
- Muscle pain and weakness
- Increased risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes
The Vitamin D rapid test lets you check your status at any time – for example, before starting supplementation or to monitor your levels during intake.
How the Vitamin D test works
- Wash your hands – thoroughly with soap and warm water.
- Prepare the test – bring the pouch to room temperature, open and place the cassette on a clean surface. Use within one hour.
- Disinfect your fingertip – clean your middle or ring finger with the included alcohol pad and let it air dry.
- Collect the blood sample – prick with the lancet, massage the finger. Draw blood into the capillary dropper (to the fill line).
- Apply the sample – release blood into the specimen well (S). Add 2 drops of buffer into the buffer well (B).
- Read the result – after 10 minutes. Compare the T line intensity with the Vitamin D color card included in the kit. Do not read after 20 minutes.
How to read your results
| Vitamin D status | 25(OH)D level | Test display | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deficient | 0–10 ng/ml (0–25 nmol/L) | Clear T line, matches “Deficient” on color card | Consult a doctor, discuss Vitamin D supplementation |
| Insufficient | 10–30 ng/ml (25–75 nmol/L) | Medium T line, matches “Insufficient” on color card | Vitamin D supplementation recommended |
| Sufficient | 30–100 ng/ml (75–250 nmol/L) | Faint T line, matches “Sufficient” on color card | Vitamin D level within normal range |
| Excess | >100 ng/ml | C line only, no T line | Consult a doctor – Vitamin D level may be too high |
Important: The higher your Vitamin D level, the lighter the test line. Always compare with the color card included in your specific kit.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the Vitamin D rapid test?
In clinical studies with 90 whole blood specimens, the test demonstrated an overall accuracy of 94.4 %. The accuracy for detecting Vitamin D deficiency exceeds 99.9 %. For a precise ng/ml value, we recommend a follow-up laboratory analysis.
When should I test my Vitamin D level?
Particularly recommended during autumn and winter (October–March), with limited sun exposure, before starting Vitamin D supplementation, or to monitor levels during ongoing intake. The test can be performed at any time of day.
What does an “insufficient” result mean?
A Vitamin D level below 30 ng/ml is considered insufficient. This means Vitamin D supplementation is advisable. Discuss the appropriate dosage with your doctor or pharmacist.
Does this test work differently from other rapid tests?
Yes. With the Vitamin D test, a higher Vitamin D level produces a lighter test line. This is the opposite of most rapid tests where a clear line indicates a positive result. Always use the color card included in your kit for accurate interpretation.
